In the role of Water/Wastewater Engineer, we'll count on you to:
  • Plan, direct and monitor technical aspects of water pump stations and pipeline design projects, sewer collection system design, and wastewater treatment plant design.

  • Work in a Team Environment to accomplish complex tasks and project deliverables

  • Take responsibility for performing complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures

  • Make decisions on significant design and engineering procedures as needed
  • Be involved with client relationships with specific focus on relaying HDR's water and wastewater credentials
  • Function as technical specialist, deputy project manager and/or project manager on mid-size projects as needed
  • Ability to supervise small staff of professionals and technicians as needed
  • Responsible for implementing QA/QC procedures and for the execution of training for personnel as established
  • Participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance
  • Assist in permitting efforts associated with design projects
  • Perform other duties as needed


Preferred Qualifications
  • Civil 3D CAD and/or BIM experience

  • A minimum of 3-years experience designing and creating plans and specifications for water and wastewater projects
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field
  • Previous experience designing and creating plans and specifications for water and wastewater projects
  • Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of a task
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
