About this opportunity:

Join our team at Ericsson as a MVS Mainframe Systems Administrator, a critical role that drives our end-to-end technical solutions based on customer specifications and burgeoning business needs. As part of our dynamic team, you will facilitate profitable business growth by bridging customer needs and technical opportunities into robust offerings and proposals. You will support the product developers during the requirement analysis and high-level design phases while having the chance to assume responsibilities in Customer Support, sales, and service delivery.

What you will do:

  • Engage in detailed discussions with application developers and system administrators to understand their technology strategy and key bottlenecks.
  • Evaluate customers' technological environment, business requirements, and plans.
  • Identify areas for improvement and potential hurdles related to technology and business.
  • Contribute to the development and presentation of business case modeling and technical argumentation.
  • Monitor customer tickets, address incidents, service requests, and act as a focal point for change management.
  • Assist with automated testing on the environment after platform upgrades and updates, review system automation, adjust as necessary, and create system automation based on customer and team requests.

The skills you bring:

  • 7+ years' experience, being proficient in IBM Mainframe z/OS 2.6 and 3.0 administration, LPAR technology, and product support, including extensive expertise with Broadcom (Computer Associates) products focusing on Automation (OPSMVS), CA1/CA7/CA11, and Librarian. Skilled in SMP installs and z/Netview.
  • Demonstrated consultative and solution delivery skills combined with strong leadership and project implementation capabilities.
  • Effective in negotiation, coaching, mentoring, and possessing a solid solution architect background.
  • Well-versed in hardware, architecture, virtual environments, technology, protocols, interfaces, and financial acumen.
  • Adept at customer solution design, providing market insights, understanding the Ericsson portfolio, and exhibiting strong business acumen.
  • Proficient in infrastructure capacity, performance analysis, solution definition, and technical sales.

Your Pay:
The salary range for this position is listed below. The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate's combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.

  • Washington, New York, and New Jersey: 149,440 - 196,140
  • California: 149,440 - 214,305
  • All other US locations: 138,400 - 181,650

Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit's objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.

Your Health:
Ericsson offers comprehensive health benefits, featuring three medical plan choices. Two of these options are PPO plans that require employee contributions toward premiums. The third option is a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) with a Health Savings Account (HSA), featuring 100% company-paid premiums for employee-only coverage. Additionally, Ericsson offers shared premiums for dental and vision coverage, along with other company-paid physical wellness programs.

Your Financial Security:
We invest in your financial wellbeing, both short and long-term. Ericsson's best-in-class 401(k) program includes an automatic 3% company contribution. Additionally, Ericsson will match up to 5% of your contributions, resulting in a maximum company contribution of up to 7%. Additionally, employees receive company-paid basic life and accidental death and dismemberment coverage, as well as company-paid short-term and long-term disability benefits. Employees also can participate in Ericsson's Stock Purchase Plan.

Your Time:
We value your work-life balance and offer our new employees up to 40 days of paid time off annually. This includes 15 days of accrued vacation, 3 personal days, 11 paid holidays, 10 sick days, and 1 volunteer day. Note that paid time off is pro-rated based on your start date. If you have extra vacation days at the end of the year, you may sell one week of vacation for a week's pay. Additionally, Ericsson offers up to 16 weeks of company-paid maternity leave, 4 days of bereavement leave for immediate family members, and 6 weeks of paternity or adoption leave at 100% pay, all without a service requirement. Ericsson also offers medical leave at 100% or 66 2/3% of pay, based on length of service.
