Job Description
As the EMC Field Technician you will be responsible for conducting electromagnetic compatibility/compliance testing, troubleshooting, and for providing support for various clients in diverse environments including on-aircraft, in-hangar, manufacturing, and laboratory-based settings.
  • The primary attribute for this role is recent USAF C-17A and/or C-130 COM/NAV (2A8X1 or equivalent) 7-Level experience as an Integrated Communication/Navigation/Mission System (2A8X1) Technician. (E5/E6/E7 7-Level).
  • A solid understanding of test and evaluation processes and procedures, the operation of various test equipment, RF components, and an understanding of EMC standards.
Essential Functions
  • Conduct on-aircraft and on-site EMC test and measurement on electronic devices and systems in accordance with relevant military standards (e.g., MIL-STD-461 and MIL-STD-464) and in-house procedures.
  • Set up and operate test equipment, including spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, and various RF components.
  • Familiarity with aircraft avionics test equipment and operation.
  • Develop test plans and test support documentation.
  • Compile data, analyze test results, and prepare reports.
  • Maintain test equipment, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
  • Substantial technical interaction with Government, Military, and Contractor personnel.
  • Extensive pre-test technical and logistical coordination with USAF maintenance personnel.
  • Stay updated on industry standards and best practices related to EMC.

Education and Experience:
  • C-17A and/or C-130 COM/NAV (2A8X1 or equivalent) technician experience as an Integrated Communication/Navigation/Mission System (2A8X1 or equivalent) experience. (E5/E6/E7 7-Level)
  • Associate degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical field.
  • Proven experience in on-aircraft maintenance and testing, fieldwork, or a related technical role.
  • Proficiency with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF measurement tools, and avionics system testers.
  • Understanding of EMC principles, standards, and measurement techniques.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
  • Requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in diverse environments.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
  • Ability to interface with USAF maintenance site personnel.
