Contract/Freelance Project Description
Linxx Global Solutions, Inc. (Linxx) is seeking a dedicated seeking a skilled Penetration Tester for part-time, independent contract work. This role requires conducting onsite penetration tests, security assessments, and ethical hacking for clients. Travel to client locations will be necessary as part of the engagement. You will work with both internal teams and clients to identify vulnerabilities and provide recommendations to mitigate risks.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform onsite penetration tests on client networks, applications, and systems.
- Travel to client locations to conduct security assessments (up to 30% travel).
- Use security tools such as Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nessus, Nmap, and Wireshark to identify and exploit vulnerabilities.
- Provide detailed reports with remediation strategies based on test findings.
- Work directly with clients to explain security vulnerabilities and recommend actions to mitigate risks.
- Stay updated on emerging security threats and best practices.
- Ensure testing complies with industry standards like OWASP, PCI DSS, NIST.
- Assist with social engineering and physical security testing where applicable.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, or ethical hacking.
- Strong knowledge of security tools and methodologies used in testing.
- Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP) and common security flaws (e.g., SQL injection, XSS).
- Certifications such as CEH, OSCP, GPEN, or similar are preferred.
- Experience with cloud security testing is a plus.
- Willingness to travel for onsite testing engagements (up to 30%).
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and explaining complex technical details.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
