How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?
Carrier Gas Operations provides on-site air separation units producing nitrogen and oxygen gas production with best-in-class safety, reliability, flexibility and total cost of operation to our semiconductor manufacturing customers. Also supplying cost effective high purity bulk gas.
Experienced instrumentation technician to support 24/7 gas plant operations
Work safely in all situations.
Acts as a leader in safety and a resource to others concerning plant safety rules, regulations, and company safety policies/procedures; models good safety practices.
Perform all work in compliance with standard operating and maintenance procedures, utilizing current Life Safety Training skills and safety requirements including safe work permits, energy control isolation and IDLs, confined space entry work, hot work, work plans, pre-job discussions, plant safety inspections, etc.
Ensure contractors, visitors, co-workers and others comply with company safety policies/procedures.
Calibrate and troubleshoot plant instrumentation and analyzers
Maintain and repair PLCs, analyzers, computer equipment, loop controllers and operator interfaces
Repair instrumentation as identified in work requests in the computerized maintenance management system.
Perform loop checks
Tune control loops
Troubleshoot plant control system issues and assist in installing new control systems.
Design instrumentation-related controls.
Maintain spare parts inventory for instrumentation, analyzers, and control systems.
Exhibit instrumentation and mechanical aptitude.
Learn and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), corporate procedures
Read and interpret blueprints, flow charts, process piping ISOs, simple schematics, P&IDs, electrical schematics, controls documentation; perform basic math operations.
Write and redline standard operating procedures
Keep accurate records and be diligent in documentation and record retention policies.
Demonstrate proficient knowledge of control board and operator interface computer consoles.
Participate in plant outages
Maintain and expect high housekeeping and organizational standards.
Perform other duties as assigned by Plant Management
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required; Technical Associates degree preferred
6+ years of technical training and/or operations experience, combined.
Broad familiarity with pneumatic controls, analyzers, DCS systems, analyzers, transmitters and valves.
Ability to work extended hours, nights, weekends and possibly holidays as business needs dictate.
Valid Driver's License
Familiarity with regulatory requirements for operating plants (Process Safety Management, EPA regulations, FDA regulations, state/local regulations).
Knowledge in the proper methods of locking out and isolating equipment.
Ability to use computers-knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
Ability to work in a team environment; demonstrated self motivated attitude.
Good verbal/written communication skills in order to deal effectively with team members, management and external customers.
Qualified in operation of forklift and man lift is preferred.
Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to wear required PPE safety equipment including, hardhat, safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, and FRC clothing
Full range of motion; ability to lift 50 lbs.
Able to climb ladders, work off elevated platforms/surfaces
Able to work in non-conditioned environment for extended periods
Able to enter confined spaces for inspection, testing and work

The pay rate for this position in Texas is $35.00-$40.00.
