About the Role

As a key member of AESC US LLC, you will be the main point of contact architect on projects for leading the design from inception to completion.

You will play a crucial role in advancing our mission to lead in full-value-chain battery solutions for a sustainable future. Reporting to [Architecture Lead], you will collaborate with internal clients, stakeholders, manufacture engineers, and external A/E teams to deliver innovative and sustainable design solutions. Your expertise in architectural technical knowledge, project coordination, and team leadership to drive the success of projects on schedule and under budget. Your work within the GID Architecture team will directly impact our strategic goals and contribute to our position as a global leader in battery technology.

Your Team

You will be reporting directly to the Architecture Lead, who brings expertise in battery manufacturing process and life safety design to ensure designs meet industry standards, building codes, and regulations. You will collaborate closely with a group of dedicated professionals, each contributing their unique skills and expertise to our collective success. Currently, the team consists of 2 talented individuals in roles such as Senior Architect or Senior Architectural Designer, fostering a collaborative and dynamic work environment. This close-knit team is known for its agility, technical precision, high caliber manufacturing plant design, and dedication to delivery. What You Will Do
  • Project Design Phase Coordination:
    • Serve as Architecture SME and as main point of contact on assigned projects for all design-related questions, and provide technical expertise and guidance, from inception through design, construction, and turnover phase.
    • Manage and coordinate architecture projects, ensuring delivery is code compliant, within schedule and quality requirements.
    • Perform production of Space Planning and Architecture Design Standards for Basis of Design.
    • Support data collection of User Groups' functional requirements, life safety analysis, space planning, including but not limited to HMIS analysis.
    • Review and coordinate all Clean Room Dry Room architecture materials, such as Air Showers, Air Locks, Pass-Thru, Life Safety design and code path, wall partitions, roof assembly, ceiling details, door hardware specs and components, fire-rated through-penetration ULs and details, and applicable project specs for design intent.
    • Support production of Basis of Design content, including specifications, and pertinent drawings.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Perform QAQC review of project interim deliverable packages.
    • Ensure adherence to design standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Stakeholder / Client / Team Coordination:
    • Foster positive and collaborative relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing exceptional customer service.
    • Collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams, including cross-disciplined engineers (C/S/MEP/FP/LV), stakeholders, and contractors to drive solutions, develop comprehensive project plans and design strategies.
    • Stakeholder coordination for Space Planning and Data Collection for Space Programming and the development of design standards. Provide support in the development and maintenance of design standards and guidelines as needed.
    • Participate in project meetings, presentations, and progress reports, effectively communicating project status, issues, and recommendations.
  • Construction Administration:
    • Conduct project site visits as required for monitoring progress, quality, adherence to design standards.
    • Perform Punch List field walks as required, including door hardware for every single door.
    • Perform job site walks during construction and produce field reports for the team.
    • Provide oversight, address, and resolve construction-related issues and change orders as required, making informed decisions that balance design intent, cost implications, and project goals.
What You Need
  • Bachelor of Architecture Degree.
  • Architecture Licensure required.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in construction documentation utilizing Revit.
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in construction of Type I and Type II Construction Types highly preferred, with experience in Construction Administration (CA) phase (RFIs, field reports, and shop drawings/submittals review.)
    • Minimum 1 year of experience in high hazard (H) Occupancy group required.
  • Experience utilizing Bluebeam and Navisworks on project coordination with multi-disciplinary team comprised of C/MEP/S/Fire Protection / Process Piping/Low Voltage and Manufacturing engineering team.
  • Knowledge of the following:
    • Various codes (IBC, ADA, NFPAs, etc.)
    • CSI specifications coordination
    • Door hardware components for specification (CSI specs)
    • Sustainable design principles and Green Building code
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam, Sketch Up, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneNote, CAD, Navisworks.
  • Ability to read and decipher technical reports, Code Analysis report, geotechnical, environmental, and all drawing disciplines.
  • Excellent time management, effective communication in both verbal and written, and strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Proactive problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Understands and follows all standards of IATF16949 and VDA 6.3 quality standards. (training and awareness will be provided for those who are not familiar with these standards)
  • Understands and follows all standards of ISO14001 environmental standards. (training and awareness will be provided for those who are not familiar with these standards)
What is "Nice to Have"?
  • Clean Room experience strongly preferred.
  • Manufacturing or Industrial building type experience preferred.

Work Environment

The work environment is primarily an automated manufacturing plant with a concrete floor and is characterized by some temperature extremes, moderate noise, and forklift traffic. The individual must be able to perform all essential functions as appropriate on the plant floor, in meetings, and with employees, management, customers and suppliers.
