Full-time, Days

Responsible for the planning, directing, and coordination of all activities relating to the distribution of patient-ready supplies and the reprocessing of reusable instrumentation, equipment, and supplies in SPD on a 24 hr. basis. Is responsible for the initial orientation and training of newly hired SPD staff. Provides for the continuing education (in-service) for staff. Assures the provision of patient care by addressing performance, patient, family, and physician issues/concerns as appropriate. Ensures on-going compliance with JCAHO/CMS accreditation and State Licensure requirements. Shares knowledge of functions and standards to assist others in planning improvements; communicates information; designs materials and education programs; teaches; coaches, and encourages recognition of achievement.

Minimum Education, Experience, Training, and Licensures Required:

  • Certified Sterile Processing Technician or Certified Surgical Technician
  • 5 years Sterile Processing experience, an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience may be considered.
  • Management experience preferred
