Quality Technician Level 1 are responsible for eliminating vehicle defects through the daily inspection of vehicles.

Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:
Perform complete pre-inspection, test drives, and quality audits of finished product in accordance with
process documentation
Document, communicate and lead, activities to resolve issues needing corrective action
Work with Manufacturing Supervisors, Engineering, and Quality to resolve quality issues
Validate all critical and safety items as required by build book
Ensure that paperwork is complete and accurate during the build process
Help to maintain tracking log of all repetitive issues
Review all deviations, quality alerts, and stop shipments
Communicate and document (when appropriate) issues found and inform the appropriate parties
Coordinate/follow-up on daily inspections and auditing activities with quality department team
inspectors to ensure QA is supporting and current with manufacturing valudation requirements/
final product audit prior to customer inspection
Facilitate scheduled final inspection processes with customer, such as spec review, fit and finish
review, operational reviews, final walk around with shop associates
Enter and maintain quality assurance data base
Assign/perform/follow-up on scheduled and non-scheduled truck book audits
Assign/follow-up on finalizing trucks' for shipment per shipment schedule
Provide feedback to manufacturing supervision regarding repetitive non-conformances
Self-check work and inspect prior processes
Meet production goals
Maintain a clean and safe work area
Initiate process improvements when able
Work in close proximity to customer, as needed
Operate any equipment or tools needed to perform the job
Assist other team members and departments as needed
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent experience
One year experience in a fire-truck manufacturing facility or equivalent
Detail oriented with strong analytical, communication and problem solving skills
Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal
Energetic, motivated, professional and serves as a team player
Ability to multitask and effective time management skills
Ability to use basic hand and power tools
Ability to read and use a tape measure to precise measurements
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to maintain attendance within company guidelines
Ability to retain and apply instructions
Positive attitude
Work overtime on short notice
Embrace change
Basic computer skills and functional knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Access, and Excel
Basic math skills; addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
Must be detailed orientated
Ability to read and understand truck specification documents
Ability to work within safety guidelines
Must be self-motivated
Must be able to work with little to no supervision after two weeks
CDL is required


SCHEDULE:
Hours depend on business and department needs. All positions are subject to overtime as needed. Overtime can be scheduled by adding additional days to the scheduled days for the week or by extending the hours worked. See a supervisor for information on overtime worked in a particular department.
