The Lexington Recreation and Community Programs Department is looking for a camp director at LexRec SOAR (Summer Outdoor Arts & Recreation) this summer, which is a licensed day camp for children ages 5-12. This program is held Monday through Friday and offer a wide variety of activities such as arts & crafts, sports & games, story time, music, special themes and events, and time at the Center Playground and Town Pool.
Responsibilities:
* Ensures the safety and quality of the program where children of all abilities can thrive. * Responsible for day-to-day operations of the program and the health and safety of all participant sand staff. * Responsibilities include camp set up and break down, managing drop off and pick up, creating a diverse schedule of activities, communicating with parents and staff and supervising staff and volunteers. * Reports to Summer Program Supervisor, Assistant Director of Recreation, or Director of Recreation and Community Programs. Qualifications:
* Minimum 21 years of age * Possess Bachelor's degree in a related field or Related work experience * Minimum two years of experience working with elementary and middle school children of all abilities * Leadership experience in a day camp setting * Valid Standard First Aid and CPR/AED Certification * Supervisory ability and experience * Knowledge of a variety of recreational activities for ages 4 to 12 * Good oral and written communication skills
