Job Description

Georgia-Pacific is now hiring an Area Reliability Director to champion Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and continuous improvement programs across multiple corrugated converting operations. This key position provides the opportunity to leverage resources, innovative technologies, and continuous improvement programs to strategically position the business for growth. Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills, combined with the ability to motivate others to contribute at the highest level are a must.

The Area Reliability Director will lead advancements across multiple facilities and while the role is home-based role for someone living in the central/Eastern US, it will require approximately 75% travel or more as needed. This role will report to the Director - Asset Care and will have responsibility for:

  • Asheboro, NC
  • Spartanburg, SC
  • Martinsville, VA

What You Will Do

  • Lead and foster a safe work environment that values risk identification and personal ownership.
  • Coach and influence, while seeking and sharing knowledge with others for learning and employee development
  • Identifying opportunities to advance maintenance processes, establish control plans and deliver world class performance in Reliability.
  • Engaging with Capital and Project Engineering to review and recommend Design for Reliability considerations for new equipment installations and equipment upgrades.
  • Developing 1-year and 3-year Reliability Tactical Plan to improve equipment availability and performance.
  • Supporting Maintenance in the development of forward-looking multi-year equipment replacement and overhaul plans
  • Review and validate maintenance spending for value and risk.
  • Supporting Maintenance in the review, rationalization, and optimization of effective PM plans
  • Utilizing communication skills to establish partnerships across to the site to achieve plant performance goals.
  • Working a flexible schedule, including occasional weekend duty as necessary to manage facility performance.
  • Developing data driven opportunities for improvement, align plant and MX resources, monitor execution to ensure progress.
  • Leveraging Continuous Improvement leaders to drive program at sites.
  • Reporting, owning, and driving improvements of divisional reliability initiatives.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience in Plant/Operations Management in manufacturing.
  • Previous experience developing venture summaries to upgrade assets with reliability technology to eliminate failures.
  • Lead continuous improvement programs or initiatives previously (examples: Lean, Six Sigma)

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering
  • Corrugated manufacturing experience
  • Experience with optimization of equipment, process, and systems to consistently out-perform OEM design.
