The Staff AI/ML Engineer holds a central role in propelling Fortrea's AI/ML initiatives forward. This professional specializes in conceptualizing, architecting, and implementing cutting-edge AI/ML solutions that enhance operational efficiencies and strategic decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate possesses a profound understanding of AI/ML methodologies, excels in leveraging advanced AI/ML algorithms to develop robust models, demonstrates proficiency in Python development, and exhibits exceptional leadership and communication skills to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

Summary of Responsibilities:
* Spearhead the design and development of sophisticated machine learning models and algorithms tailored to optimize diverse facets of Fortrea's operations, including but not limited to clinical trial optimization, predictive analytics, and personalized healthcare solutions
* Architect and implement APIs utilizing state-of-the-art frameworks such as FastAPI to facilitate seamless integration of AI/ML capabilities into existing systems
* Harness the power of OpenSource libraries and frameworks to build, train, and deploy AI models at-scale
* Establish rigorous procedures for model validation and code review to ensure the reliability and robustness of AI/ML solutions
* Continuously assess and refine AI/ML models to uphold precision, scalability, and alignment with evolving business requirements.
* Drive innovation across the application development lifecycle, from conceptualization and design to testing and deployment.
* Collaborate closely with data scientists, engineers, and internal and external business stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable AI/ML solutions that drive tangible value.
* Mentor and coach junior team members, fostering their professional growth and proficiency in AI/ML engineering.
* Conduct comprehensive testing and troubleshooting to address any issues encountered during the development and deployment phases.
* Stay abreast of emerging AI technologies, methodologies, and best practices to inform continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications (Minimum Required):
* Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
* Demonstrated track record of delivering impactful AI/ML applications.
* Proficiency in Python programming and extensive experience with relevant libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, etc.
* Familiarity with programming languages such as Java SDK, React and JavaScript
* Deep understanding of AI/ML concepts, encompassing machine learning algorithms, neural networks, natural language processing, etc.
* Strong grasp of databases, data modeling, and proficiency in either of GraphQL, SQL, MongoDB, etc
* Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
* Expertise in API development
* Outstanding problem-solving abilities and analytical acumen.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience (Minimum Required):
* Minimum 7-10 years of hands-on experience in Software/Solution development, with a focus on AI/ML product development.

Preferred Qualifications Include:
* Prior experience working within Agile development methodologies.
* Proven expertise in leading end-to-end AI/ML product development initiatives, from ideation to deployment.
* Proven ability to work effectively in a team setting and be a self-starter.
* Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, multitask, and adapt to a rapidly changing environment.

Pay Range: $110,000 - $150,000 (The range does not include benefits, and if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity)

Benefits: All job offers will be based on a candidate's skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data. Regular, full-time or part-time employees working 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(K), ESPP, Paid time off (PTO) or Flexible time off (FTO), and Company bonus where applicable.
