This is a position with The Marley Company, a parent company which provides administrative support to the SPXEnterprisesHVAC Heating businesses (such as WM Technologies, LLC, Marley Engineered Products, LLC, Patterson-Kelley, LLC) and includes all Weil-McLainbranded products.

How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Lead Program Manager you will be responsible for NPI process development, adherence to NPI processes for all projects, monthly NPI reviews and portfolio reporting. In addition, you are responsible for providing program leadership for assigned programs, managing program schedules and funding to ensure timely completion of gate deliverables.

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

  1. Ensure that products are introduced to meet or exceed the Company's product quality, safety and performance standards.
  • Ensure adherence to the New Product Introduction (NPI) process for all programs for Weil-McLain, Patterson-Kelley and Marley Engineered branded Products
  • Assign Program Managers to programs and manage the resource demand forecast for the project management team.
  • Run monthly NPI project status meetings as well as reporting for Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews.
  • Track programs against schedules, budgets, and stage-gate review deliverables to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Coordinate with customers, through Marketing and Sales, to provide necessary program status and obtain customer feedback.

  1. Continuous improvement of the NPI process
  • Introduce changes to increase effectiveness while ensuring efficiency and minimal administrative overhead
  • Develop and implement corrective measures for off-schedule and unanticipated eventualities.
  • Identify and manage program risks as identified by the program team, including prioritization and mitigation plans.
  • Use problem-solving techniques to properly identify, resolve and document issues related to cross-functional program management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned that relate to the overall goals of the department and organization

What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)

We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:

Required Experience

  • Eight plus years relevant industrial experience in a technical role.
  • Five plus years program/project and people management experience.
  • Knowledge of technical and administrative aspects of all phases of project management.

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated strong organization skills, including following up on needed actions and those of assigned program team members.
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Project or similar scheduling software
  • Demonstrated teamwork leadership abilities, as well as persistence when dealing with problems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Mechanical Engineering techniques, sheet-metal fabrication, and high-volume assembly processes
  • Able to develop graphs, tables, pivot tables, and other reports using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Effectively communicates well with internal and external customers, and all levels.
  • Demonstrated sound business acumen.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand & interpret product strategies.
  • General knowledge of operations, including scheduling, procurement, manufacturing, product testing, marketing, and quality systems.

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
  • Master's degree in engineering or business preferred
  • Project or program management certification.
  • Six Sigma techniques and methodology certification.

Travel & Working Environment

  • Climate controlled office environment
  • Periodic use of safety equipment such as foot, eye, and ear protection when in production facility or lab.
