POSITION SUMMARY

The Engineering Technician assists Engineering with creating, improving and maintaining products and processes. This role assists in
defining and implementing IT related manufacturing processes.

CORE FUNCTIONS

  • Assist manufacturing engineering and IT in defining and implementing processes and hardware to improve production
    information flow, control and display. Information to include engineering-controlled prints, work instructions and product
    specifications
  • Help lead efforts in defining and implementing error-proofing / mistake-proofing related to document flow, product
    identification and product processing. This could include barcoding, scanning, weighing and minor fixture/equipment design
  • Assist manufacturing engineering with process and equipment related projects. Responsibilities may include time
    observations, labor balancing, simple fixture design, process testing/monitoring and other manufacturing related
    responsibilities
  • Inspire, motivate and lead others in utilizing Lean manufacturing tools to deliver results. Assist with continuous improvement
    and Lean tool implementations
  • Assist quality and design engineering in product and process design and improvements

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

  • Associate degree or higher in Industrial or Mechanical Design or related field; or a commensurate level of experience in
    CAD design, prototyping, or manufacturing process control
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a manufacturing related field

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Individual Contributor: working team member with no oversight of others and no management responsibilities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • This position is subject to medium work; Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Physical Activities

  • This position is subject to the following physical activities: standing, balancing, walking, reaching, hearing, and using hands and/or fingers in repetitive motions.

Visual Acuity

  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.

Working Conditions

  • The worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, including heat, noise, vibration, and hazards from the production-based environment.
