Evoke is seeking a Audio Visual Technician to join our team!

Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular inspections, testing, and maintenance of audiovisual equipment, including projectors, displays, microphones, speakers, video conferencing systems, and related accessories.
  • Provide expert assistance and troubleshooting for AV-related issues and service requests from FCC staff and stakeholders. Promptly respond to support tickets and inquiries to minimize downtime.
  • Setup and Configuration: Set up, configure, and calibrate AV equipment for various meetings, conferences, and events. Ensure optimal performance and quality during presentations and video conferences.
  • Provide on-site technical support during FCC events, conferences, and meetings, ensuring the smooth operation of AV equipment and resolving any technical issues that arise.
  • System Integration: Collaborate with other teams to integrate AV systems with existing IT infrastructure, networks, and collaboration tools, ensuring seamless interoperability.
  • Maintain accurate records of AV equipment inventory, configurations, and maintenance activities. Create and update knowledge base articles and technical documentation for AV support procedures.
  • Stay informed about the latest AV technologies and trends. Make recommendations for hardware and software upgrades to enhance AV capabilities.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops for FCC staff on the proper use of AV equipment and collaboration tools to maximize efficiency and user satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular quality checks on AV services, ensuring compliance with established standards and optimizing performance.
  • Interface with AV equipment vendors and service providers, managing equipment warranties, service agreements, and facilitating equipment repairs as needed.

Professional Experience and Skills:

  • Proven experience in providing technical support for audiovisual equipment, video conferencing systems, and related technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of AV equipment setup, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with AV standards and protocols, such as HDMI, H.323, SIP, and audio codecs.
  • Proficiency in AV control systems and related software (e.g., Crestron, Extron, AMX).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think quickly under pressure.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, to support events and urgent AV needs.

Education and Years of Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Audiovisual Technology, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the audio/visual field.

Security Clearance

  • Applicants selected must be eligible to work in the United States, be subject to a government security investigation, and meet eligibility requirements for access to protected information.

Work Location

  • Washington, DC (100% on-site)
