Job Description

Job Summary: Responsible for new process development and manufacturing technical support to grow Momentive's Engineered Coating Technologies product line for the wide bandgap semiconductor market.

Job Description:

  • Develop new ceramics coating products and processes based on technology roadmap utilizing technical expertise in materials science and engineering to meet new market/application demands.
  • Responsibilities involve Critical to Quality CTQ determination, process and product development, feasibility testing, prototyping, pilot testing, and scaling.
  • Apply chemical and material science fundamentals in research and development projects and apply project management skills in planning, budgeting, time management, resource allocation, and risk management.
  • Identify, optimize, and implement process improvements to reduce losses and improve quality.
  • Develop and implement robust new methods and procedures for new products and transfer the processes to manufacturing facilities at multiple sites.
  • Generate intellectual properties such as technical report, operation procedure, patent, and publication.
  • Apply Six Sigma methodology, statistical and characterization tools to analyze process yield and product quality.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or higher education in Chemical Engineering or Material Science and five years' related industrial experience
  • Expertise in chemical vapor deposition or similar coating technologies
  • Expertise in surface and material characterization techniques for product and process development including XRD, SEM, EDS, XPS, TGA and thermal conductivity measurement
  • Expertise in mechanical design, thermal and/or stress simulation, vacuum system design and layout, refractories & material selection for high temperature
  • Proficient in statistical design and analysis of experimental data including design of experiment, hypothesis testing and Gage R&R
  • Project management experience - effective planning and prioritization of projects to ensure on time delivery of new product/process technologies
  • Proven interaction skills to work with manufacturing, supplier and customer
  • Ability to work in an industrial environment with necessary PPE and interact and influence in a matrixed environment
  • A strong sense of accountability, urgency, and self-direction

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Six Sigma training and/or certifications
  • Familiar with new product development using Stage-Gate process
  • Mechanical design using SolidWorks
  • Simulation using Ansys
  • Experience working with statistical software such as Minitab
