Job Description
Pyrotechnique by Grucci is an explosives manufacturing firm, specializing in the manufacturing and distribution of a range of munitions and training simulations.
We partner with the United States Department of Defense so we can support our troops with our products.
Located on the Radford Army Ammunition Plant for over twenty years, we welcome you to join our Virginia team!

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
 
  1. Must have a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or industrial engineering with a minimum of 2 years’ experience within Manufacturing.
  2. Background experience in Minitab or similar data analysis software preferred.
  3. Background experience in Lean Manufacturing.
  4. Must be able to perform Time and Motion studies.
  5. Background experience Kaizen in Events strongly preferred.
  6. Background experience in Root Cause Analysis.
  7. Must have the ability to make judgments based on factual data, work with minimal supervision and manage multiple projects and tasks.
  8. Background knowledge of ISO.
  9. Background knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing required.
  10. Background in basic Excel and Word.
  11. Must be capable of reading and understanding DoD drawings.
  12. Must be courteous, tactful, and objective while working to ensure that quality and service objectives are maintained throughout the organization.
  13. Must be able to work well with others and motivate employees.
  14. Must be able to work well under the pressure of ensuring that requirements and specifications are met in an ever-changing environment.
  15. Must be able to communicate to upper levels of management concerning the quality management system.
  16. Must be able to act as a liaison with external parties on matters relating to quality system.
  17. Must possess valid driver’s license.
  18. Must be able to understand and utilize the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
  19. Must be able to receive clearance from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE).

JOB DUTIES:
 
  1. Time and Motion Studies
  2. Process Flow and Mapping
  3. Production Floor layouts
  4. Standard Operating Procedures
  5. Process improvements including jigs, fixtures, and tooling.
  6. Basic drawings
  7. Capital justifications and implementation.
  8. Project Management
  9. Analyze data collected within operations, document findings and proposal of improvements.
  10. Must be committed to ISO and the company's Quality Management System using process approach and risk-based thinking methodologies.
  11. Ensure the Quality Policy and quality objectives are communicated to direct report employees.
  12. Share accountability for the effectiveness of the Quality Management System ensuring the Quality Policy and quality objectives are established and compatible with the context of the company.
  13. Participate in ISO internal and external audits.
  14. Participate in the development of the Business Plan to meet company’s objectives.
  15. Participate and lead as needed in Root Cause Analysis efforts.
  16. Participate and lead as needed in Kaizen Events.
  17. Participate and lead as needed in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  18. Participate in on-going training and education as directed by the Director of Operations Senior.
  19. Obey all company work and safety rules.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
 
  1. Must be able to walk throughout facility 8-12 hrs per day.
  2. Must be able to read at Level 4 on the Graham-Field Eye Test Card (Jaeger Eye Test).
  3. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  4. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
