As a Lead Paint Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing total cell/group leadership in the attainment of goals concerning safety, quality, cost, delivery, and compliance.
  • Having provision of practical engineering support to the production team in maintaining all paint shop and associated equipment to ensure volume and quality targets are achieved.
  • Scheduling daily manufacturing plan and reviewing the weekly production target with planning, work on a pull system to level load the plant to meet the target
  • Providing standard work of paint & blasting process/sequence and technical specifications as per the client's requirement in compliance with international standards.
  • Supporting new equipment procurement and refurbishment activities in support of the Facilities & Maintenance department.
  • Auditing coating /painting/Insulation and fireproofing as per the ITP/drawings/procedures at all stages and maintain and control processes by utilizing SPC techniques and drive improvements by reducing process variability.
  • Working with Facilities and Production to determine efficient station layouts, including modifications to existing facilities. Liaise with external suppliers of equipment and compile necessary documents for implementation and approval.
  • Providing Training and working with the Manufacturing team to develop effective manpower requirements reflecting volume mix and model specification, including methods improvements to achieve hours per car target.
  • Selecting appropriate tools, jigs, and fixtures, including specialized hand tools, power tool, and spraying equipment to meet vehicle quality and hours per car targets, whilst ensuring operator safety targets are achieved.
  • Working with the Health and Safety department to ensure all processes and materials are suitable for the manufacturing environment. Complete project Environmental Checklists when raising Projects.
  • Investigating and resolving Manufacturing Engineering issues, providing timely containments to ensure that product quality is not compromised and informing technicians of process changes.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Manufacturing)
  • Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Manufacturing engineering role.
  • Be able to help build a team and develop individuals, which in turn motivate employees and inspire others in the manufacturing Industry.
  • Have a NACE CIP / AMPP Certified Coatings Inspector Level-2 preferred.
  • Have experience with application and coating techniques.
