Job Description

Join Cottage Health as the hybrid remote LMS & E-Learning Specialist. The LMS & E-Learning Specialist coordinates and manages the Learning Management System (LMS) for HR/Learning at Cottage Health. In this role you will be responsible for administering the LMS including registration processes, database management, problem resolution, scheduling, and tracking of all learning activities related to the organization's LMS. Provides operational consulting to departments in the use of the LMS to support effective training needs. Runs and delivers reports from the LMS as needed. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Performs day-to-day functions within the LMS such as maintaining user database, assigning required learning modules, creating and uploading online modules, and maintaining system functions. Works closely with ITS partners, trainers, educators and administrative staff on entering data, pulling reports, and performing other functions in the LMS. May include reference to types of internal and/or external contacts for the accountability.
  • Works closely with partner departments to identify and achieve department and project goals related to online/e-learning education. When needed, review raw data as delivered by subject matter experts and use the data to build course content and tests based on the agreed upon course design; and coordinating the edit cycle and implementing edits received as necessary. Tests 3rd party software and content for integration into the LMS and serves as liaison to outside vendor as LMS subject matter expert when needed.
  • Manages LMS logistics including course curriculum registration, rosters, and reports. Prepare the course description and course abstract forms for on-boarding of the training into the Learning Management System (LMS). Deploy new and revised eLearning courses to the LMS.
  • Collaborates with ITS partners to ensure LMS data/information is current with regulatory agency standards as well as best practice standards. Responsible for auditing LMS usage, monitoring compliance, monitoring data integrity, editing data and records to ensure accuracy, and preparing and creating reports on a timely basis.
  • Assists with special projects that may involve the analysis of the data within the LMS and performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

LEVEL OF EDUCATION

Minimum: Bachelor's degree in human resources administration, business administration, Information Technology, instructional design or a field related to the position. Education can be exchanged for additional years of experience using the formula 1 year of education = 2 years of experience.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Minimum: Working knowledge using remote training tools such as WebEx, GoTo Meeting, Zoom and Adobe Connect. Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Preferred: Knowledge of how eLearning solutions integrate with a LMS. Working knowledge of Oracle LMS and/or Healthstream is preferred. Intermediate working knowledge of - Adobe Captivate (such as Articulate, Moodle, gomo) & NetDimensions (such as NetDimensions, HealthStream, PeopleFluent, Moodle, Cornerstone, Lessonly, Sumtotal, Canvas, Articulate Online, Adobe Captivate Prime, SilkRoad, Taleo, SkillSoft)

YEARS OF RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE

Minimum: A total of one (1) year work experience in one of the following categories:

  • Working with and administering an integrated learning and talent management system required (such as NetDimensions, HealthStream, PeopleFluent, Moodle, Cornerstone, Lessonly, Sumtotal, Canvas, Articulate Online, Adobe Captivate Prime, SilkRoad, Taleo, SkillSoft).
  • Working with training, instructional design, curriculum design, adult learning principles and measurement strategies as part of an organization.
