Compensation: $75,000-85,000

Responsibilities

  • The Supply Planner is responsible for the production and purchasing planning required to supply product for sale while maintaining target inventory levels. This team member utilizes planning tools to continuously correct product over/under supply, as well as direct the required production, purchasing, and inventory redeployment to hit the optimal inventory target. In this role, the Supply Planner will support the long-term inventory planning with extensive cross-functional interaction with Demand Planning, Sales, Production, and Purchasing teams.
  • Maintain the long-term Supply Plan, which includes the required production and purchasing by SKU by week to support the Demand Plan sales forecast and maintain target inventory levels. Direct interbranch transfers of product from hubs to spokes as required.
  • Execute inventory management strategies to optimize inventory levels by balancing working capital expense against service levels. Utilize A/B/C or other strategies to optimize inventory. Execute reorder points, EOQs, and production runs based on SKU characteristics.
  • Implement inventory strategies to accommodate production, purchasing, and storage capacity constraints. Lead planning for recurring capacity challenges, such as Chinese New Year.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain Buyers to ensure required POs are created in alignment with Supply Plan. Communicate required PO adjustments and ensure execution with suppliers accordingly.
  • Publish shortage and excess reporting for inventory. Collaborate with sales and product teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Analyze options to resolve supply issues (e.g. product diversions, secondary suppliers, expedited fees, etc.) and makes recommendations to leadership given cost/benefit trade-offs.
  • Monitor and act on KPIs relevant to Supply Planning. Drive continuous improvement in in-stock levels, inventory turns, and late orders due to product availability.
  • Provide feedback to Demand Planning teams on common forecasting issues.
  • Other duties as assigned by management. Reports to Director -- Demand Planning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or equivalent work experience.
  • Relevant professional experience.
  • APICS or comparable certification a plus.
  • Experience with Supply Planning and Operational Planning tools such as JDA, Logility, Kinaxis, SAP APO, Oracle Demantra, or other comparable tools.
  • Knowledge of standard Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) or Integrated Business Planning (IBP) methodologies. Experience participating in supply consensus meetings.
  • Knowledge of MRP processes, capacity planning, and distribution requirements planning.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office suite, including advanced skills in Excel.
  • Able to convey key insights from quantitative data in a concise and easily understood manner.
