Technology Transfer & Research Management Support Specialist

Must be a US citizen and have the ability to obtain a Public Trust

The Technology Transfer and Research Management Support Specialist will assist Cherokee's Government client to develop technology transfer agreements to enable new medical products to be developed for the military and provides research proposal support to scientists which enables advancement of medical technologies.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Technology Transfer & Research Management Support Specialist: $90,000 - 95,000

Pay commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Technology Transfer & Research Management Support Specialist Responsibilities Include:

  • Monitors advancements in information privacy technologies to ensure organizational adaptation and compliance.
  • Reviews and evaluates intellectual property (IP) disclosure documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Assists inventors with their invention disclosures
  • Reviews and evaluates intellectual property (IP) held by partner as well as in-house IP to determine the possibility of new IP and value of the collaboration
  • Processes, tracks, and revises agreements in support investigator's collaborations with parties within and outside the Federal government
  • Serves as the point of contact for incoming request forms for agreements including CRADAs, MTAs, Collaborative agreements, SLAs, IAAs, DSAs, and others.
  • Coordinates a weekly meeting to review potential collaborations by developing agenda that is sent to participants, attend meetings and discuss the proposed collaborations, and maintain records including meeting minutes and due outs, adding information to databases and tracking them for future reference
  • Performs background and commercial market research on technologies needing a commercial partner
  • Participates in the development, implementation, and ongoing compliance monitoring of all partner and business associate agreements, to ensure all privacy concerns, requirements, and responsibilities are addressed
  • Initiates, facilitates, and promotes activities to foster information privacy awareness within the organization and related entities.

  • Performs background and commercial market research on technologies needing a commercial partner.
  • Participates in the development, implementation, and ongoing compliance monitoring of all partner and business associate agreements, to ensure all privacy concerns, requirements, and responsibilities are addressed.
  • Initiates, facilitates, and promotes activities to foster information privacy awareness within the organization and related entities.
  • Works with all organization personnel involved with any aspect of release of protected health information related to the research being done at the hospital, to ensure full coordination and cooperation under the organization's policies and procedures and legal requirements.
  • Assists with other laboratory or outreach projects as needed. This includes working with other members on special projects and assignments.
  • Pre- and full proposal management and tracking duties which includes:
    • Coordination of grant submissions in a timely manner,
    • Coordination of review of proposals submitted in response to the BAA/PA,
    • Review of all pertinent documents to ensure recipient compliance with established administrative and financial policies and procedures and sound business practices,
    • Assist Investigators with research proposal submission processes.
    • work with internal PIs and external partners/collaborators on preparation of proposal documentation.
    • monitor the research award decision process.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Technology Transfer & Research Management Support Specialist Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • MS or BS Degree in Health Science, Allied Science, or related field and 1-3 years of experience in a preclinical and/or clinical study-related research environment.
  • Experience or demonstrated knowledge of technology transfer, working knowledge of Federal technology transfer legislation and policies.
  • Working Knowledge of technology transfer
  • Working knowledge of Federal technology transfer legislation and policies.
  • Must be a US citizen and have the ability to obtain a Public Trust
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
