Peraton is currently seeking to hire an experienced Cyber Software Test Eningeer to join our Federal Strategic Cyber program.

Location: Arlington, VA . A hybrid telework/remote work environment. Must be able to come on-site as needed.

Position Description:

    Setup test environments and required setup (e.g. Jenkins) for automation testing and make sure the automation scheduler job runs based on given time frame.
  • Manual and automated testing; Leverage a combination of automation tools to develop regression tests on an incremental basis and operate in an Agile environment.
  • Document software defects using a bug tracking system and report defects to software developers.
  • Ability to write test scripts then be able to evaluate the results of those tests.
  • Classify the defect based on the behavior (Functional Performance or Security) and report it to the software development team and plan for fix retesting.
  • Prepare Defect related metrics (Defect Severity Index Defect Density) required for management reporting.
  • Test access and ability to access, and review the systems' environments, source code and other resources to be managed, following receiving authorized access to the required configuration items.
  • Support continuous integration and deployment by incorporating automated testing during the development phase to improve software code quality, security, and compliance.
  • Participate and provide input as part of Agile project daily standup, sprint planning, backlog refinement and retrospective meetings.
  • Participate in after-actions review to address lessons learned and areas of improvement opportunity, as appropriate.
  • Update JIRA and other project documentations of status.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years related technical experience required. An additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts.
  • Experience conducting system acceptance testing in accordance with approved test plan and test procedures.
  • Experience efficiently writing, revising test procedures for the desired program, and evaluating the product to attain the desired quality.
  • Experience ensuring software is functioning according to user requirements.
  • Experience interfacing with clients, technical support personnel, and other technical professionals to ensure efficient and effective service.
  • Experience evaluating and testing new or modified software programs and software development procedures used to verify those programs.
  • Experience with various aspects of software or hardware testing (e.g., component, integration, system and acceptance testing).
  • Experience/expertise with Selenium, AWS cloud architecture, Java, JIRA, Postman, and Confluence tools.
  • Experience with GitLab CI/CD Test Automation Pipeline & Reporting
  • U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance required.
    • In addition, selected candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a favorably adjudicated DHS background investigation to start and for continued employment.

Preferred:

  • Experience with SAFe Agile testing environments.
  • Experience working AWS cloud environments.

Target Salary Range
$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
