The Flow Cytometry Core Facility in the Institute for the Biology of Stem Cells (IBSC) at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for a Flow Cytometry Core Specialist. The Flow Cytometry Core Facility provides investigators, both inside and outside UCSC, state of-the-art technologies for cell sorting and analysis. We are looking for a team player with an understanding of flow cytometry and the ability to support the maintenance and quality control of flow cytometers and cell sorters, operating/troubleshooting of the flow cytometers, and providing oversight for core clients carrying out flow cytometry experiments. Under the supervision of Assistant Professor Shaheen Sikandar, the incumbent will be assigned the following duties.

Degree, which may be a U.S. degree or an equivalent foreign degree, must be in cell biology, developmental biology, cancer biology, stem cell biology, or a related field.
For appointment to the associate specialist rank:
-MA/MS degree or a BA/BS degree and a minimum of six years' post-baccalaureate experience that relates to the advertised position.
-At least two years of experience in a lab technician role with experience in using flowcytometry and/or managing machines is required.
