MRIGlobal is seeking a highly motivated person to join our Integrated Defense Solutions Business Unit as a Staff Chemist in Charlottesville, VA. The successful candidate will join a team of scientists actively conducting chemical forensics and analysis.
Principal Accountabilities and Success Factors
Successful candidates will have a passion for applied research and developing technically sound solutions to real-world problems. The Staff Chemist will be an integral part of our team supporting and directing research and development laboratory activities, while gaining a thorough understanding of relevant federal program, QA/Safety/SOPs, and analytical instrumentation. Primary assignments will include (1) performing method development, (2) standard and sample preparation, (3) sample analysis using Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (MS) and Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LC/MS), (4) performing task leadership for small projects and tasks for large projects, (5) preparation of research reports, including collection and organization of experimental data and literature searches. The position requires the ability to work with chemical agents and other toxic chemicals while adhering to strict safety and procedural protocols. This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance. In order to meet the government security investigation requirements, U.S. citizenship is a requirement.
