Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Supplier Development Manager to lead our supplier management team. This role is responsible for enhancing supplier performance, making strategic sourcing decisions, and executing improvement plans to improve chronic supplier issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, supply chain management, and team leadership.

This role will report directly to the Division Supply Chain Director and will engage with all levels of leadership including Operations, Engineering, Quality, Program Management and Finance. The person in this role will also collaborate with peers from other Parker divisions and locations and be the primary focal point for leadership in many of our suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

* Supplier Management: Develop, implement, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for assessing supplier performance. Regularly review supplier performance against these metrics and lead performance improvement initiatives in partnership with our suppliers.

* Reduce Chronic Shortages: Work cross functionally to help suppliers reduce chronic shortages and systemic issues within the supply base.

* Work Transfers: Will be responsible for managing our work transfer process and increasing work transfer velocity. Identify key suppliers for development based on strategic importance and performance metrics. Implement supplier development programs that enhance capabilities, improve quality, and ensure compliance with Aerospace industry standards.

* Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the engineering, quality, and operations teams to ensure supplier capabilities meet the company's current and future needs. Develops and benchmarks best practices among other Parker divisions and industry peers and utilizes these best practices in our division.

* Risk Management: Proactively identify risks in the supply chain and develop strategies to mitigate these risks. Ensure continuity of supply through comprehensive risk management and contingency planning.

* Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and develop a team of supplier development professionals. Establish clear team goals and metrics that align with company objectives and foster a culture of continuous improvement and drive for results.

* Project Management: Oversee and manage projects related to supplier performance improvements, cost reduction initiatives, and supply chain optimization. Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business or related field. Master's degree strongly preferred.

* Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive supplier development experience. Four (4) or more years of increasing leadership responsibility within manufacturing operations or supply chain within a manufacturing setting required

* Certification or a professional designation in APICS or similar preferred

* Strong understanding of procurement and supply chain processes in a manufacturing or related industry.

* Proven ability to manage and improve supplier performance.

* Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

* Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.

* Proficiency in supply chain management software and tools.
