BASIC ACCOUNTABILITY

The Community Relations Professional, working under direct supervision, is responsible for executing routine tasks to establish and manage public and community affairs for the organization. The role plays a key factor in building and maintaining connections between organization employees, operations, and communities in which the organization operates. The role involves assisting in coordinating the organization's community outreach efforts, as well as representing the organization at various community and industry functions. The role provides valuable insights to internal and external departments contributing to the overall success of the organization's community engagement initiatives.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, Journalism, Public Affairs, Communications, Marketing, Business Administration or any other related discipline and/or commensurate work experience is required.

EXPERIENCE

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience, preferably in Community Relations specializing in areas such as, Community Outreach Event Management and Planning, Community Educational Program Design, Volunteer Engagement or a related field. Industry experience is preferred.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists in coordinating donation announcements, organizing photo opportunities, and managing special events, under direct supervision, to enhance community engagement and support organizational outreach initiatives.
  • Facilitates the maintenance of a calendar detailing sponsorship commitments, requirements, benefits, and associated deadlines and collaborates with key stakeholders to fill organization-sponsored tables.
  • Develops basic business knowledge, accesses relevant data services, and gains awareness of industry practices, fostering effective working relationships and learning from subject matter experts.
  • Facilitates printing, distribution and tracking of collateral materials and event tickets associated with sponsorships to maximize the organization's impact.
  • Coordinates attendees to charitable events sponsored by the organization, communicating details to attendees and host organizations and demonstrating academic understanding in the discipline.
  • Facilitates in coordinating all the logistical arrangements for projects resulting from corporate sponsorships and/or engagements, ensuring seamless execution.
  • Researches community involvement opportunities, provides assistance for employee volunteer initiatives as needed and develops awareness of community relations' project management.
  • Plans and executes external communications for assigned region(s) ensuring alignment with community relations strategy and develops skills under direct supervision, supporting change efforts.
  • Assists with special projects, offering general administrative support as part of a collaborative team effort and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • This role will require up to 30% travel.
