Overview: The Affordable Housing Regional Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful management and operations of affordable housing properties within a designated region. They will ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, manage budgets, supervise on-site staff, and work collaboratively with stakeholders to maintain the quality and affordability of housing options.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Real Estate Management, or related field (preferred).

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in affordable housing management or property management.

  • Thorough understanding of affordable housing programs, including HUD regulations and LIHTC requirements.

  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.

  • Proven leadership ability with experience in supervising and developing teams.

  • Proficiency in property management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Certified Property Manager (CPM) or Accredited Residential Manager (ARM) certification (preferred).

Key Responsibilities:

Property Management:

  • Supervise property managers and on-site staff to ensure efficient day-to-day operations of affordable housing properties.

  • Oversee leasing processes, including applicant screenings, lease signings, and rent collection.

  • Implement and enforce property rules and regulations to maintain a safe and healthy living environment for residents.

Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing affordable housing programs, including HUD regulations, LIHTC requirements, and fair housing laws.

  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies and conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to compliance standards.

  • Develop and implement corrective actions as needed to address compliance issues.

Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage property budgets, including operating expenses, capital improvements, and reserve funds.

  • Monitor financial performance and implement strategies to optimize revenue and control costs.

  • Prepare financial reports and forecasts for senior management and stakeholders.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Cultivate positive relationships with residents, community organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders.

  • Address resident concerns and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

  • Collaborate with community partners to identify resources and support services for residents.

Training and Development:

  • Provide training and guidance to property staff on compliance, leasing procedures, customer service, and property maintenance.

  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development among team members.
