Kansas Children's Service League is looking to hire a full-time Early Head Start Parent & Child Educator in Liberal, KS. This position earns a competitive wage of up to $16.50 per hour and works a Monday - Friday schedule with occasional evenings and weekends.

JOB SUMMARY

Provide Early Head Start Home Base program services to a case load of children and their families. As well as provide a group socialization experience to parents and children which will enhance the parents' ability to fill the role of primary nurturer of their child. Maintain on-going contact with families and work with all other components (health, nutrition, family services, mental health, special services, parent education and resource/referral) to integrate services into the family setting. Must meet requirements per Federal Head Start Performance Standards and any local, state and or agency policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Home Visits / Case Management
    • Conduct weekly 90-minute Home Visit with Early Head Start children and families on caseload.
    • Promote continued involvement of parents in the child's education through weekly home visits completion and assisting with transition.
  • Data Entry
    • Complete required data entry for children and families in caseload in the ChildPlus.net system (i.e. home visit completion, PIR, Observations.)
  • Groups / Parent Meetings
    • Conduct 2 hour socialization twice per month

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Home-Based Child-Development Associate (CDA) certification from the Council for Professional Recognition, preferred education listed below or the ability to obtain a CDA within two-years from hire date.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish

Preferred

  • Associates degree in early Childhood Education or related Social Services field.
  • Two years experience in an Early Childhood Program.
