Compensation $54,400 to $68,000 annually ($26.15 per hour to $32.69) ranges depending on experience and education.

*This range reflects Carestream's good faith estimate to pay fairly as starting wage. Offers will be tailored within the range based on the selected candidate's experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process, as well as geographic market differentials for the position.

Position Summary:

Carestream Health is seeking a Buyer Planner for its Supply Chain manufacturing team. Location; 100% onsite at 1049 W. Ridge Road, Rochester, NY

The Buyer Planner is responsible for purchasing raw materials and components to meet the production and customer requirements. This role evaluates and analyzes supplier quotes, maintains relationships with vendors, and ensures orders are placed and delivered on time. The Buyer Planner is responsible for working with the supplier to keep the account in good standing to ensure continuity of inbound materials. In addition, the Buyer Planner is responsible for adhering to inventory policies and operates within the inventory budget.

Position Responsibilities:

* Provides purchasing support at an advanced level by:
* Assessing material requirements plan and developing purchasing plan that supports services level while maintaining inventory targets.
* Establishing planning parameters at the item level that aligns with ABC stocking strategies, MRP, Kanban and Reorder Point replenishment strategies.
* Communicating to suppliers through material forecasts, purchase orders, expedites, GR/IR reconciliation, EDI, etc.
* Work with Engineering and other Buyer Planners on engineering change process and establishing effectivity dates.
* Collaborating with Manufacturing/Operations on determining supply risks and mitigation plans. Determining root cause to line outs, developing, and implementing containment plans.
* Working with quality to disposition defective stock.
* Working closely with Planners to understand part requirements.
* Translates MRP to purchasing requirements. Communicates supply readiness, risks and issues to stakeholders -collaborates with Finished Item Planners to understand; troubleshoot and align with MPS.
* Analyzes MRP data, and other relevant factors to assess complex supply risks.
* Ensures that Kanban signals and MRP reflect shifts in demand requirements.
* Identifies key risks to supply chain and impacts to supply continuity - develops resolution and/or mitigation plan.
* Runs routine MRP and detailed reports to determine purchasing actions to take. Queries data to assess trends and risks determining root cause. Analyzes data and provides daily updates on supply status and line outs to stakeholders.
* May take a lead role on resolving complex high impact supply issues with through expediting with suppliers, negotiating with Service Parts Planning, Commodity Management and/or working with Engineering to determine alternative supply solutions.

Desired Skills:

* Supplier management experience desired
* Strong analytical skills
* 3+ years of work experience in production planning or purchasing, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
* SAP experience preferred, but other equivalent ERP/MRP applications experience is desired.
o Proficiency in purchasing with MRP/ERP systems (SAP preferred)
* Microsoft Windows Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project)
* Familiar with Kanban and other lean methodologies

Work Environment:

100% onsite at 1049 W. Ridge Road, Rochester, NY - Office

Physical Requirements:

Standing, Walking, Sitting, Bending,

Lifting up to 20 lbs: 1 to 25%

1 to 2 times per month exposed to manufacturing noise, vibrations, chemicals, airborne particles, mechanical places, etc. More details will be supplied upon interview.
