Work Schedule:

This is a 1.0 FTE position. As needed for operations. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

Work as a talented culinary expert to compose and prepare meals from scratch. You will be responsible for hot and cold food production in a high-volume kitchen. Enjoy this fast-paced, team environment while being able to quickly problem-solve and make decisions.

We are seeking a Lead Food Production Cook to:

  • Follow all UW Health guidelines and policies regarding food safety and sanitation.
  • Prepare large volumes of food with a high level of complexity, variety, and quality.
  • Assess quality and condition of ingredients used in food production and prepare food production reports and documentation.
  • Train and orient new staff members.
  • Act as an effective leader for the Culinary Services Department and the organization.

Education:

Minimum - High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred - Associates Degree in Culinary, Hospitality, or Nutrition.

Work Experience:

Minimum - Three (3) years food service, hospitality, or customer service experience.

Preferred - Six (6) months leadership experience.

Licenses and Certifications:

Minimum - SERV Safe Certification required within three (3) months of obtaining position
