Job Summary (includes but is not limited to the following, other duties may be assigned)

The accounting analyst serves as experienced employee in the corporate accounting area and provides input with other team members on analyzing and completing tasks related to the corporate accounting area. The position includes requirements to work collaboratively within the department and with cross functional teams as part of day to day activities. The Corporate Accounting team is responsible for the timely and accurate recording of all corporate entries including, cash transactions, accounting for unconsolidated investments, SG&A expense, legal expense, payroll and benefits expense, insurance and captive insurance transactions as well as the monthly consolidations and closing of the general ledger.

The Accounting Analyst role is responsible for execution and review of accounting and reporting activities and functions related to the corporate accounting area and includes analyzing data, preparing journal entries, monthly and quarterly close responsibilities, completing account reconciliation and creation of management reporting packages and analyses. This role will also support other projects, as needed. The Accounting Analyst is also required to collaborate closely with other accounting groups and others, including Treasury as part of day-to-day activities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Execute processes and procedures to comply with monthly financial statement close deadlines
  • Preparation and review of financial reporting schedules related to corporate accounting areas
  • Preparation of monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Performance of key controls in the corporate accounting area
  • Creation of quarterly financial statements for certain subsidiaries

Job Requirements

  • Strong analytical and computer skills are required.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
  • Minimum of 4 - 6 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Ability to comprehend process automation and integration.
  • Experience with Peoplesoft preferred but not required.
  • Strong analytical and technical MS Office suite skills preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with significant deadlines.
  • Must be able to work longer hours at various times during the year to meet deadlines and job requirements.
