We are seeking two part-time interns for Summer 2024 with possible extension to Fall 2024.

One position will assist with researching transportation disadvantaged (TD) data to assist with developing a report requested by the Florida Legislature. Some of the research includes: baseline conditions for the TD program, quality of service, training programs, and performance measures. The project will also require similar research in the same areas for Medicaid and paratransit transportation services. The intern will also assist with event planning activities for Mobility Week in District 2 (Jacksonville, FL). This will involve acquiring new event partners, scheduling events, and preparing resources for event outreach.

The second position will assist with preparing the Transit Development Plans (TDPs) for the transit agencies under the Emerald Coast Regional Council Contract. In addition, we are in a strong position to win the ECAT (Pensacola, FL) New Transit Facility Project. This position will help in developing the operating plan for the proposed facility to include the number of buses that will be using the site, on-site circulation, waiting capacity, and other features to ensure the successful operation of the site. This position will also be assigned transportation policy work under the FDOT Central Office contracts.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry
  • Candidate is working towards Urban/Regional Planning Bachelor's degree
Required Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program
  • Attention to detail
  • Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
