Job Description

Regions Hospital is looking for an overnight clinical inpatient pharmacist to provide pharmaceutical care and clinical expertise to patients. Pharmacists at Regions Hospital provide professional pharmaceutical services by reviewing medication orders, dispensing medications and related supplies, monitoring patient medication therapies, providing drug information and education to healthcare providers and patients/families, precepting pharmacy students and residents, reviewing medication orders, dispensing medications and related supplies, overseeing the work of direct support personnel, and participating in quality and safety improvement projects.

This position is responsible for the provision of pharmacy services including inpatient dispensing and IV preparation, occasional outpatient dispensing, and decentralized clinical services. This position works overnights providing a mix of centralized and decentralized activities, including medical emergency response in the hospital, supporting ICU, and cross-covering clinicians with medication management, as well as supporting the emergency department with trauma, stroke, and arrest patients. The ideal candidate will have good initiative, good triaging skills, and be able to work with independence.

Work Schedule:

  • 7 on/7 off, overnight.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a PharmD or BS in Pharmacy.
  • Current license to practice pharmacy in the State of Minnesota.
  • Currently working in a central inpatient capacity (comparable role) position.
  • At least one of the following:
    • Completion of a Post-Doctorate Pharmacy Program (i.e., residency or fellowship such as a PGY-1 or PGY-2 ASHP-accredited pharmacy program) functioning in a decentralized capacity or comparable role, or completion of a post-doctorate pharmacy program (i.e., residency or fellowship), or BPS Board Certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year of current experience working in inpatient dispensing and IV preparation.
  • Three years of current experience in decentralized clinical service.

Additional Information:

This is a union 0.9625 FTE (77 hours per pay period) overnight shift position, 7 on/7 off, including every other weekend, working in Saint Paul, MN. The full salary range for this position is $67.88-$77.30 per hour, based on experience. This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act, and is eligible for benefits, which begin on day one of employment.
