Job Description

Description of Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists and provides answers to sales department inquiries with information concerning customer orders as it relates to area inventory availability, shipping and cutting schedules, tracing, and any other customer service questions.
  • Coordinates shipping schedules and investigates tracking of shipments for customers. Monitors carrier freight claims for lost and damaged material and maintains applicable record keeping.
  • Assist with SAP Shipment building and cutting functions as assigned.
  • Monitors area Goods Issued Date and Delivery Date on customer order shipping requirements to meet/exceed established company service level objectives.
  • Monitors area inventory needs as it relates to restocking requirements for customer orders, identifying obsolete inventory and seek outlets for reduction.
  • May act as CSN expert to monitor and resolve CSN's for area department and maintains applicable record keeping.
  • May acts as liaison between sales and service center to verify and provide applicable records for customer returns.
  • Participates in customer CSC tours as needed.
  • Be aware of ISO procedures and Wire & Cable Quality System Procedures and Work Instructions to help guide/direct quality services.
  • Become computer knowledgeable of SAP, Distribution System, etc.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma, or equivalent, is required.
  • Previous related experience desired.
  • SAP program and shipment building experience preferred.
  • Must possess a deep understanding of warehouse operations.
  • Must be familiar with how to schedule cuts.
  • Excellent P.C. skills including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required.
  • Prior customer service work experience is a plus
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, proven business acumen, exceptional interpersonal capabilities and possess a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to function and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced operating environment is critical
  • Must be able to interface and communicate effectively within the organization, with business units throughout the company, and with partners across the supply chain in a professional manner.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a changing business environment.
  • Ability to operate efficiently in a team environment.
  • Must be able to handle stress caused in meeting deadlines with tight scheduling requirements
  • Must have responsible work habits.
  • Employee should be able to perform satisfactorily in three months.
