PURPOSE

The field foreman provides excellent leadership and is responsible for coordinating and organizing crews to ensure that production goals are met.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Pre-plan and organize work for crews.
  • Ensure that crews working on assigned job understand all aspects of the job such as measurements, setbacks, forms, footings, hardware.
  • Train crews in proper procedures and techniques.
  • Work with Superintendent and interface with customer to make sure the Company is meeting expectations.
  • Understand budgets for assigned job. Make sure assigned job finishes at or below budget.
  • Monitor the job to make sure that all time sheets are correct.
  • Work with the Superintendent to make sure all work orders/purchase orders are properly processed and collected.
  • Be able to mentor and recognize accomplishments of subordinates.
  • Be able to discipline subordinates in a proper manner, aim to help them learn from mistakes and compose a plan to ensure situation can be prevented moving forward
  • Oversee safety procedures and reports all safety accidents/incidents and initiates appropriate action.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the quality improvement process and the philosophy of continuous improvement.
  • Identify and respond actively and with sensitivity to the needs of all customers.
  • Participate as a team player in all phases of the organization.
  • Open and responsive to change.
  • Personally provide customers with knowledgeable, courteous, and prompt service at all times.
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to the Company's safety standards and enforce safety regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises assigned employees including staff training; planning, assigning, reviewing, and directing work; assists with conducting performance reviews; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

Three (3) years of related experience

Or equivalent education and experience

COMPETENCIES

  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret, comprehend, and/or present information; as well as oral and written communication.
  • Ability to utilize Excel or any calculating device to solve basic to complex mathematical calculations and measurements.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • May require CPR and First Aid certification.
  • May require forklift certification
  • May require valid driver's license.
  • May require OSHA Safety Training.
  • May require trade certification.
