Responsibilities

This position is responsible for the processing of legal documents including subpoenas, tax levies, interrogatories, summons, writs, executions, etc.

  • Process legal documents including, but not limited to, Restraining Notices, Subpoenas, and Levies.
  • Assist with the processing of requests from attorneys on deceased customers.
  • Provide assistance with bulk legal research.
  • Place holds on customer accounts in accordance with legal regulations.
  • Process release of funds to the appropriate entities.
  • Maintain a shared log of all items processed.
  • Assist other members of the department and legal unit as needed to ensure timely processing of legal documents received.
  • As an integral member of the Deposit Operations Department, this position is also responsible to provide assistance wherever necessary to help the Deposit Operations Department and the Bank in achieving their annual goals.
  • Maintain proficient knowledge of, and demonstrate ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to this position, ensure ongoing adherence to pertinent policies, procedures, and internal controls, and meet all job-specific training requirements in a timely fashion.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; an Associate's Degree in Business or Accounting preferred.
  • Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematical skills.
  • strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Must be able to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
  • Must be detail oriented, and have excellent organizational and data entry skills.
  • At least 2 years of legal office experience preferred.

Hours: 40 hours/week

Compensation: Commensurate with experience plus potential for annual merit increase.
