Job Description

As a Laboratory Technician in Ecolab's Microbiology Services group you will support the corporate Microbiology Services team to support the development Ecolab antimicrobial products. Microbiology services is a shared resource group that provides worldwide support for all divisions of the organization providing sound technical advice and data to support current sanitation practices and future sanitation solutions.

What You'll Do:

  • Prepare and sterilize laboratory media and reagents
  • Perform Quality Control testing on laboratory media, reagents, and supplies
  • Decontaminate and process laboratory supplies and glassware
  • Document laboratory tasks following Good Laboratory Practice Regulations
  • Monitor, order, and stock routine laboratory supplies
  • Perform cleaning and maintenance on laboratory equipment
  • Use standard microbiological techniques to maintain, enumerate, isolate, and/or identify cultures of microorganisms as directed
  • Represent Microbiological Services team in a competent and professional manner
  • Embrace Ecolab's safety culture.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Degree/GED and 2 years of demonstrated work experience in a technical laboratory or other fast-paced environment such as a restaurant
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong written documentation skills
  • Immigration sponsorship not available for this role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in a laboratory science
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment
  • Familiarity with GLP Regulations (e.g. 40 CFR Part 160 or 21 CFR Part 58)
