JOB TITLE:

Research Compliance Student Technician

JOB PURPOSE:

Assist the University of Wyoming research compliance teams (Radiological/Biological Safety Specialists, Animal Research Compliance Coordinator, IRB Coordinator) with laboratory tasks (including inspections/signage, survey instrument calibration, observation of biosafety cabinets, sealed source/inventory testing, x-ray equipment survey), and general office duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist the University of Wyoming research compliance teams (Radiological/Biological Safety Specialists, Animal Research Compliance Coordinator, IRB Coordinator) with laboratory tasks (including inspections/signage, survey instrument calibration, observation of biosafety cabinets, sealed source/inventory testing, x-ray equipment survey), and general office duties as assigned. Must complete work in a timely manner to meet deadlines. Ability to complete required training including but not limited to safety orientation, chemical hygiene (lab safety), hazwaste generator, biosafety, radiation safety, x-ray safety, and relevant human & animal research trainings. Ability to wear personal protective equipment as necessary. Must be willing to work during the summer months.

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:

This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

College level general chemistry, biology or physics knowledge and computer skills

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Safety and Environmental background.
