Overview

Perform troubleshooting, preventative and corrective maintenance of HVAC and refrigeration equipment. Assist under the close supervision of qualified mechanics with moderately complex maintenance tasks on electrical or electronic HVAC equipment.

Responsibilities
    Work from approved standard and special procedures.
  • Perform simple or routine activities based on skills and knowledge attained from training and previous experience.
  • Obtain guidance from more experienced HVAC technicians and supervision when the condition warrants.
  • Complete work orders, service requests and stores orders.
  • Follow/comply with applicable Safety and Rad Con policies and procedures.
  • Attend and successfully complete classroom, on-the-job and other forms of training.

Essential Duties:

  • Troubleshoot/repair HVAC equipment of various types and sizes, including package units, split units, pad/wall/roof mounted, and ice machines to maintain original manufacturer specifications.
  • Perform simple electrical/electronic tasks such as opening/closing disconnects, lifting/landing electrical leads, running conduit, replacing components, calibration of simple instrumentation and electrical/electronic devices.
  • Assist more experienced HVAC technicians with the installation, inspection and maintenance of moderately complex instruments, electrical and electronic equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Operate motorized vehicles and associated equipment within licensing limits.
  • Perform single point lockouts.
  • Perform incidental rigging on equipment.
  • May be required to perform specific operations functions where specific module training is provided.
  • Perform administrative functions such as read and understand manuals and procedures.
  • Other administrative function as needed to perform job.
Qualifications
  • Must be EPA Certified, with a minimum of two (2) years' experience as Universal Technician per 40 CFR Section 82, Subpart F.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state Driver's License.
  • Must be able to speak, read and understand English.
  • Must pass General Employee Training (GET) and be able to obtain a site security badge.
  • Must be able to successfully complete Hazardous Energy Control (Lockout/Tagout) Training.
  • Must be able to successfully complete Rad Worker I Training (RWTI).
  • Must be proficient in use of computer for recording/documenting daily work history.
