Job Description

Job Overview:
Midland Plastics is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join our team! In this key role, you will develop Mastercam programs to control machining or processing of plastic parts by automatic machine tools, equipment, or systems. Experienced with Haas or Fanuc Controller, and has basic GD&T knowledge along with M&G codes.

  • Prepare CNC programs as per shop blueprints using Mastercam, Solidworks and Autocad. Able to generate CNC programs to support new products/tooling projects.
  • Set-up and operate CNC machines with no supervision and be able to help train or instruct others on set-ups.
  • Experienced with using inspection tools (micrometers, indicators, dial calipers, pin gages, depth micrometer).
  • Develop fixtures and tooling for hand and machine operations.
  • Able to assess a part and plan out the most efficient way to machine it.
  • Write detailed shop instructions, including drafting drawings and layouts as needed for production and assembly.
  • Perform first time set-up on parts and troubleshoot as needed.
  • Assist estimator on quotations for complex parts or one-of-a-kind orders.
  • Confer with manufacturing, engineering, programmers, estimators and other personnel to resolve machining and programming issues.

 

Special Notes/Instructions
High School grad with shop classes or Tech School grad in last 2 years Can read blueprints Can use basic inspection tools Recent 3 plus years of experience with a Haas or Fanuc controller Recent 5 plus years of experience in CNC milling
