About the Accounting Team

The OB Accounting Team handles an array of tasks including inventory accounting for our retail stores and warehouses, accounts receivable, and sales tender reconciliation. Our team works closely with GL Accounting and Brand/Supply Chain Finance Teams as well as many other groups accross the WSI organization. Our responsibility is to record and reconcile WSI financial transactions while ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations.

Overview of the Accounting Manager role

You are responsible for Inventory Accounting for a segment of WSI business. You will have direct responsibility for all inventory accounting and work closely with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Finance department.

Responsibilities

  • Month end accounting close journal entries and month end close processes
  • Reconciliation of accounts payable and RNI/INR
  • Monthly reconciliations of inventory, receivable, and liability accounts including supporting documentation
  • Monitor physical inventory according to financial standards and determine process controls to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Ensure proper accounting controls are in p-lace. Liaison with internal and external audit
  • Participate in system upgrades as needed
  • Establish business partnerships with Accounting/Finance Teams, as well as outside teams as needed in order to gain a thorough understanding of the transaction flows, intercompany impacts, accounting and audit requirements for purposes of ensuring complete and accurate accounting for complexities of the business
  • Partner with Finance team to explain monthly variances
  • Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures
  • Special projects as assigned.

Criteria

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (4-year degree)
  • CPA preferred
  • 3-5 years accounting experience preferred
  • 2 years supervisory experience preferred
  • Self-directed, critical thinker able to work independently
  • Strong communicator and ability to work with remote teams and drive effective conversations
  • Strong technical/systems skills required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required

  • Strong analytical skills. Project management experience a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong PC skills, especially Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of large corporate accounting programs
  • Ability to analyze data and produce reports to assist operations and management
  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

The expected starting pay range for this position is $100,000 - $120,000. Applicable pay ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. In addition to competitive pay, compensation may include a variety of other components like benefits, paid time off, merit, and bonus opportunities.
