Job Description
Reporting to the RENK Systems Corporation Board Members, this role will work closely with the RENK Systems Corporation team and international counterparts to make the business more independent through creating customer relationships and increasing US based sales and P&L. This individual will work closely with German colleagues to stay on track for future developments and fully executing strategic growth plans, while targeting on specific business sectors, aligned with the overall business focus of the company. This position is onsite in Camby, IN. . Essential Functions: General management of ~$20M/ year P&L & ~25 employees. Responsibility for profit and loss of the commercial business. Development and implementation of short, medium, and long-term strategy for the commercial business in collaboration with German stakeholders within the Marine & Industry and Test Systems segments. Management of BD/Sales team with hands-on business development and aftermarket sales. Support the harmonization and shaping of commercial structure and the responsibilities to the employees in collaboration with the RENK segments. Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the commercial team. Recruit high-performing employees to achieve objectives for sales, profitability, and market share. Maintain project timelines to ensure tasks are accomplished effectively in collaboration with the RENK segments(s).
Bachelor's degree preferably, engineering or other technical major. Minimum 15 Years of prior related experience. Must thrive in project planning and working with project teams internationally. A background of business management skills, budgeting and analysis is advantageous. Able to travel at least 50% of the time, including international travel. Strong entrepreneurial & leadership skills with a passion for profitable growth of the business. Experience in gears or gears testing industry (e.g. gears for gas & oil , test systems of gearboxes and mobility subsystems for helicopters, vehicles, trains, gearboxes for wind power etc. ) is a plus. Experience in representing European companies in the US is a plus. Past experience in Sales or Application Engineering a plus. Fluency in German Language a plus. Competencies for the Role: Strong technical background is critical for the role. Interpersonal skills - a good "people person" Demonstrated track record and experience in sales and business development, Hunter profile. Ability to execute and be hands on. Must be a Player-coach. Open-minded Expected results. Heavy penetration into US market. Establish increased footprint across industries. Strengthen commercial group. Change perception of German products with American consumer base. Fully utilize pre-built infrastructure to get products to market. Make RENK Systems Corporation into self-sustaining business. Execution of strategy through detail-oriented focus. Building relationships with German colleagues and partners. Comprehensive understanding of product lines, company strengths and company challenges. Experience in managing geographically dispersed teams. Proven track record of the ability to develop and pursue complex capturing processes in the defense and industry sector. Strong intercultural management skills showing the ability to manage European stakeholders. Proven track record to oversee and manage geographically dispersed production.
