Hours: 8:00am-4:30pm

Reporting to the Executive Director of Information Systems, the Nurse Informatics Specialist is an RN with experience with Emerson Hospital's primary information system (MEDITECH) The Nurse Informatics Specialist is responsible for the management, analysis, testing, training, and support of the MEDITECH environment for advanced clinical systems among other clinical systems used by patient care services. With minimal oversight, the Nurse Informatics Specialist is responsible for providing project management for the installation and support of new applications, upgrades and standards, and providing documentation for all applications.

Minimum Qualifications
Education

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursingwith advanced preparationor education in information systems preferred.

Experience

  • 3-5 years experience with direct patient care in a hospital setting.
  • 3-5 years experience with progressiveleadership skills.

Licensure and/or Certification

  • Current license as a RN is Massachusetts.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of project management, analysis skills, computer systems testing and training
  • Strong knowledge of MEDITECH or other health care application software
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills (written and oral)
  • Ability to independently identify and resolve major or minor problems or difficulties
  • Highly motivated and able to take initiative
  • Ability to interact favorably with people, and work effectively as a team leader and team member
  • Ability to communicate in interpersonal and technical levels both verbally and in writing
  • Must have the ability to work positively in a team environment and encourage/train other team members on process and functionality
  • Experience in training and teaching
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
