Job Description

Dewberry is seeking a responsible, highly motivated, and detail oriented individual with the ability to work remotely in the Pacific Northwest to join our structures department based in Rancho Cordova, CA as a Senior Structures/Project Engineer (Bridge). Ideally this person will work remotely out of the Seattle area. The successful candidate will be part of a team designing simple and complex bridges (primarily of concrete and steel construction) and a variety of transportation related structures (retaining walls, culverts, sign structures, and other miscellaneous structures) primarily in support of ongoing alternative delivery opportunities in Washington. The candidate will also be involved in the development of Plans, Specifications, and Estimate (PS&E) packages, field inspections, and performing construction design support services.

The candidate will help support alternative delivery pursuits and projects, working closely with other Dewberry offices and teaming partners. For the right candidate, this position also offers a fast-tracked promotional opportunity to help build and lead a project design and delivery team for the Pacific Northwest. This could include creating and managing a new Seattle Dewberry office in/near Seattle to support current and future projects.

Required Skills & Required Experience
    Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited 4-year engineering college
  • Master's degree in Structural Engineering is preferred
  • Possession of a Washington SE license is required, California PE also preferred.
  • Past experience on fish passage projects
  • 10-15 years of experience in bridge and retaining wall projects
  • Experience designing transportation projects to WSDOT and local agency standards
  • Familiar with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications
  • Proficiency using CADD (Microstation preferred)
  • Proficient in MS Office (WORD and EXCEL)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills and desire to deliver the highest quality projects to our clients

The projected range for this position is $150,000-$220,000 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
