Your Job

As the Senior Director - International Logistics, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of our global logistics operations, including imports, exports, and freight forwarding for ocean and air. You will lead a team of logistics professionals, ensure compliance with all regulations and standards, optimize costs and service levels, to help develop and implement strategic plans for growing our international business and customer base.

The international logistics leader will be expected to deliver results that maximize value to Koch Industries through measured profitable activities and customer satisfaction.


What You Will Do

  • Direct and coordinate the activities of the international logistics department, including import, export, freight forwarding operations for ocean and air, and distribution strategies.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators, service level agreements, and P&L (Profit & Loss) for the international logistics function.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies related to international trade, customs, security, and environmental issues.
  • Negotiate and maintain contracts and relationships with airlines, freight forwarders, brokers, agents, technology providers and other services. Partner closely with internal procurement capability to maximize competitive position with ocean carriers.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve operational efficiency through people, processes, and technology
  • Analyze and report on market trends, customer needs, and competitive intelligence
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to expand and diversify our international logistics capabilities and offerings.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as sales, marketing, finance, and IT, to ensure alignment and integration of international logistics objectives and initiatives.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and coaching to the international logistics team, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments and best practices in the international logistics industry and participate in relevant professional associations and networks.
  • Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience in international logistics in import, export, and freight forwarding operations for ocean.
  • Experience negotiating and presenting with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience supervising logistics professionals and operational teams.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and priorities that contributes to building a scalable logistics strategy which is commercially viable
  • Experience working with various software providers in a Transportation Management System (TMS)


What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's degree in business or logistics or supply chain management
  • Experience in international logistics in import, export, and freight forwarding operations for ocean & air
  • Experience leveraging artificial intelligence algorithms and tools to optimize processes and drive insights
  • Experience with customs clearance, documentation, compliance, and transportation modes and routes.
