Associate Consultant
Your tasks

TUV SUD Global Risk Consultants, a global leader in property loss control, has an immediate opening for an Associate Consultant - Property Loss Control - Fire based in the United States, European Union and Latin American markets.

Candidates from other areas are welcome to apply and will be considered as our field engineers have the opportunity to work from home and travel to the client facilities. The position allows you to visit a wide variety of occupancies and interact with customers on a daily basis. Relocation assistance for the right candidate is also available. You control your own scheduling and when not visiting a client you work from the comfort of your own home.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Satisfactorily complete the TUV SUD GRC new employee training program.

Conduct Loss Control Surveys for prospects and clients.

Perform plan review services.

Ability to manage your own workload.

Development of technical expertise to provide services to increasingly complex risks.

As your experience and skills increase the responsibilities will expand to but not be limited to the following:

Client Loss Control Surveys - Conduct property loss control surveys to evaluate the property and business interruption exposures at client facilities based on NFPA Standards and others as appropriate

Develop recommendations based on standards to include loss estimates before and after completion of the recommendations

Evaluate automatic fire protection and water supply systems

Report and evaluate building construction, occupancy, special and natural hazards

Develop loss estimates based on scenarios such as the Maximum Foreseeable Loss

Provide training and peer review for other consultants; serve as a technical resource to other consultants

Services provided to clients include training, loss control program development, code or regulatory interpretation.

May prepare and present proposals, develop service instructions, solicit client feedback and prepare stewardship reports.

Work assigned is typical of higher technical need as well as being in direct contact with upper client management, including risk managers, financial managers, and other decision-makers.

Professional conduct and excellent written/verbal communication skills are required as the position requires direct contact with client management, including risk managers, financial managers, and other decision-makers

Provide project management services to include special visits, plan reviews, and oral/written presentations to clients.

Your qualifications

Have a four-year college degree or higher.

Are disciplined and motivated to manage assigned work.

Can apply technical knowledge to client needs to assist in the business decision-making process.

Must be able to: climb ladders; lift/carry up to 50 lbs.; stoop, crouch, crawl; traverse catwalks.
