Reports to (Supervises/Liaison): Executive Director

Position Summary

The objective of the Project Director is to provide oversight and management including
coordination, documentation, and implementation of advanced/intermediate language immersion
opportunities, cultural workshops, and monthly community events. Independent judgement is
required to plan, prioritize, and organize diversified workloads and recommend changes in
relation to program practices and procedures. This position requires oversight of contractors,
program staff, federal state, and local grant funded deliverables.

Program Director Responsibilities:
* Responsible for working with the Executive Director and Executive Administrator to execute
contractual agreements and other binding documents to support programming initiatives.
* Act as the Point of Contact for cultural workshop indigenous artist instructors, organizational
partners, language specialists, and language learners participating in GHF sponsored
workshops and events.
* Provide oversight and management in the coordination, implementation, and documentation of
advanced/intermediate language immersion opportunities throughout Southeast Alaska.
* Provide oversight and management in the coordination, implementation, and documentation of
community events focused on suicide prevention and mental and emotional well-being.
* Develop partnerships with community partners to support youth mental, emotional, and
spiritual well-being through after-school activities and community events.
* Collaborate with the Education Director and curriculum writers to guide the development of
Tlingit language curriculum content.
* Participate in monthly review of the project budget and financial reporting with the Executive
Director, Executive Administrator, and Senior Accountant.
* Delegate work assignments and projects to department team members based on expertise, work
experience, and time constraints.
* Maintain and monitor project plans, project schedules, work hours, budgets, and expenditures.
* Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company regulations,
standards, specifications, and best practices.
* Coordinate with the executive department to promote and document language immersion
opportunities, cultural workshops, and monthly community events.
* Maintain department initiative records of progress and completion for federal, state, local, and
organizational reporting/presentations on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.

Program Director Abilities:
* Demonstrate high-level verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
* Exhibit ability to manage multiple staff, budgets, projects, and activities with attention to
detail.
* Strong organizational and planning skills for successful program coordination and
implementation.
* Technical capacity and expertise in using charts, tables, graphs, spreadsheets, and databases for
program department reporting.
* Knowledge or a willingness to learn about Tlingit culture, language, and arts.

Position Time and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time benefited position working 37.5 hours a week. This position does require time
worked on the weekends (Saturdays and Sundays).

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in related field, and/or at least three years of related management experience
required.
