We are looking for an exceptional Senior Proposal Writer/Solutions Lead to join our team! The Senior Proposal Writer/Solutions Lead will be responsible for leading the solution development and proposal writing process for Federal proposals. The ideal candidate has subject matter expertise in one or more technical disciplines. More importantly, the Senior Proposal Writer/Solutions Lead is a generalist who pulls technical resources together and develops compelling technical solutions for proposals in all subject matter areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead solution development and proposal authorship for assigned government bids in support of the Proposal Manager, including white papers, quick-turnaround RFI responses, and full RFP responses
  • Analyze solicitation documents to develop compliant and compelling proposal strategies, to draft both tactical and strategic questions to the government, and to work with subject matter experts (SMEs) and corporate staff to identify and resolve risks/issues
  • Research and gather proposal reuse material and other proposal-related data as needed
  • Provide editing support (for consistency, cohesiveness, and compliance) for other writers and Proposal Managers at different stages of the bid development process
  • Work with technical subject matter experts, operations teams, and teaming partners to develop solutions (and associated content) designed to enhance our bid position and to increase win probabilities
  • Support preparation of annotated outlines, section mockups, and section specifications to support the proposal strategy
  • Coordinate development of graphics, working with technical subject matter experts to illustrate technical and management concepts and convey key proposal messaging
  • Facilitate the development of basis of estimates and level of efforts corresponding to technical solution to support pricing the bid
  • Maintain and consistently update proposal repositories on SharePoint
  • Contribute to maintenance/continual improvement of Growth resources, including the Growth SharePoint portal, proposal reuse library, and past performance library
  • Stay informed of proposal best practices and suggest process improvements as appropriate
  • Mentor and coach other staff, including more junior proposal staff and other staff who are contributing as proposal subject matter experts, writers, or reviewers

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of Five (5) years of experience as senior technical lead or project/program manager on Federal government contracts
  • Five (5) to Seven (7) years of proven experience in Federal government proposal writing, capture support, and solution development

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in analyzing and dissecting RFP requirements and evaluation criteria with agility
  • Knowledge of government contracting vehicles including GSA, agency specific, and set-aside IDIQs
  • Strong skills in writing for compelling messaging and proposal development
  • Knowledge of capability areas such as learning solutions, data analytics, business process improvement, project management, and/or forensic auditing
  • Proven ability to be self-motivated and to work well both individually and as part of a team
  • Must have a strong work ethic and commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Knowledge of proposal development best practices, such as Shipley or APMP
  • Capability to multi-task and prioritize work assignments when needed
  • Must be computer savvy and adept at using technologies aimed at communications and proposal development
  • Strong communicator and able to interface within difference levels of the organization
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong organization skills and an attention for detail
  • Willingness and ability to adapt and learn in a fast-moving environment

Desired Skills:

  • APMP certification or industry standard proposal management or writing training (e.g., Shipley, Lohfeld)
  • Ability to develop proposal training presentations and provide training to non-proposal staff
  • Ability to develop basic graphics in PowerPoint
