Role Overview:

Under the general supervision of the Team Manager, Supply Chain Data Analytics, the Supply Chain Data Analyst II operates within the established hospital and departmental policies and procedures. The Analyst works with the Contracting and Content Management teams to support data integrity efforts and to provide analytical support. Data integrity efforts include the routine monitoring of system pricing to ensure compatibility with contract file information and vendor file data. Analytical support includes the research and analysis of database information to identify and track supply costs, producing reports that support contracting and supply and utilization efforts. The Analyst must have excellent communication skills and be familiar with the creation and manipulation of common spreadsheet software.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze pricing proposals as required to determine proper value and support decision processes.
  • Group items into appropriate categories to support strategic sourcing category management efforts
  • Assist in the development and issuance of cost analysis spreadsheets and summaries for the Contracting department
  • Coordinate new and updated product pricing information loading into PeopleSoft information system
  • Work closely with Suppliers that offer rebate incentives to Mass General Brigham to correctly allocate funds to the appropriate hospitals and departments.
  • Proactively use third party benchmarking tools to identify savings opportunities
  • Monitor supply utilization trends and identify items driving costs upwards.
  • Support cost savings initiatives by presenting data analysis to physicians, clinicians and administrators
  • Track and measure post-implementation savings at the department level.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience in Healthcare Supply Chain
  • Medical/Surgical product knowledge a plus
  • 2-3 years working in an analytical role
  • Superior Microsoft Office skills.
  • Proficiency in Tableau and SQL is preferred
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must have the attention to detail to produce accurate reports.
  • Ability to function effectively within a changing environment and meet deadlines.

Skills/Abilities/Competencies:

  • Effective communication with a wide range of departments and individuals at all levels within the institution, including physicians and clinicians.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, including problem understanding, solution development, and good judgment.
  • Experience interpreting and displaying data for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to manipulate and organize large data sets and interpret implications for the entire system. This requires prior experience with databases and an ability to merge files.
  • Strong project management skills, including the development of project parameters, goals, and timelines.
  • Data management skills, including the creation, modification, and merging of computerized databases for a variety of studies. These tasks require extensive experience with Peoplesoft, Excel, and Access.
  • Knowledge of supply chain processes and strong analytical/organizational skills.
  • Creativity, self-motivation, and the ability to plan and initiate new activities.

  • Position is currently categorized as remote
