This position is located in Dayton, OH. Duties require knowledge of accepted practices in the areas of underground power networks (not Telecommunications), radial distribution systems, and broad knowledge of principles/practices in related specialties to resolve a variety of sophisticated engineering problems. They also require extensive project management skills including material acquisition, tracking project costs, and handling projects in SAP.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Performs detailed engineering work on projects of major scope and importance for all AES Ohio facilities that involve maintenance hole/duct systems including the downtown Dayton Network, Troy Network, Dayton International Airport, WPAFB, Fairfield Mall, Dayton Mall, The Greene, Substation Riser Cables, etc.
  • Responsible for engineering/project-managing all AC Network projects i.e., material acquisition, supervising project costs, leading projects in SAP, and field technician management.
  • Directs, coordinates, and drives technical investigations, engineering economics studies, operating studies, designs, tests, long range plans, forecasts, cost estimates, computations, inspections, inventories, and reports as may be required for the completion of assignments
  • Advises the work of engineering and clerical personnel assigned who assist in specific projects
  • Counsels with customers regarding Company technical and commercial policies and the application of designs and equipment of high complexity, as assigned.
  • Keeps advised on the latest developments and techniques pertaining to electrical network systems and underground distribution systems.
  • Serves as a professional representative of the Company, as assigned
  • Directs the preparation of applicable computer applications
  • Advises, coordinates, and solves problems within the operation of the AES Ohio Network SCADA system.
  • Assist in after-hours storm restoration and potentially long-duration customer outages, if necessary

Qualifications:
  • Four Year College Degree in an Engineering Field, Electrical preferred.
  • Experience with Electrical Networks preferred, but not required. This position can be hired as an Engineer I or II, depending on experience.
