Work Schedule:

90% FTE, day/evening shift rotation, one in three weekend rotation. Holidays as operationally needed. We offer a competitive starting pay, relevant work experience will be considered, this position also includes a shift/weekend differential. You will work at University Hospital in Madison, WI.

Be a front-line nursing leader for the Vascular Surgery Unit to ensure optimum patient care, efficient operations, quality service and sound financial management.

We are seeking a Care Team Leader (CTL) / Charge Nurse:

  • Direct and lead nursing staff to ensure optimum patient care, efficient operations, quality service and sound financial management.
  • Facilitate and participate in daily interprofessional rounds.
  • Continuously assess unit needs by ensuring adequate resources for current and upcoming shifts.
  • Mentor others to grow professionally and advance their knowledge and skills.

Education:

Preferred - Baccalaureate degree in nursing

Work Experience:

Minimum -

  • Two (2) years' experience in an inpatient unit
  • At least two (2) years of combined work experience and leadership experience may be considered in lieu of two (2) years' experience in an inpatient unit.

Preferred -

  • Three (3) years' experience in an acute care inpatient unit.
  • Relevant RN experience with department-specific patient population

Licenses and Certifications:

Minimum -

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact
  • Current CPR/BLS certification

Preferred - National certification in relevant specialty
